O2 Broadband Deals Now Include Rolling 1-Month Contracts

Leading UK broadband provider O2 have this week announced a significant change to the way in which customers can sign up to their broadband services.

O2 are now offering consumers a choice between 12-month and one-month rolling contracts for their broadband services, which will offer customers a greater overall flexibility.

As part of the major broadband service overhaul, O2 have scrapped their Standard, Premium and Pro packages and instead replaced them with three new deals.

First up is The Basics package, which according to O2 is perfect for everyday surfing and email, while The All Rounder has been specifically designed for consumers who want to download music and catch up on their favourite streaming TV shows.

O2 have also launched a new broadband package called The Works, according to O2 this package is “our top notch broadband for those who want it all. Best for enjoying movies and connected gaming”.

O2′s top two broadband packages (The All Rounder, and The Works) both include unlimited broadband allowances (subject to a fair usage policy), with their new The Basics package including a 20GB monthly limit.

In regards to pricing, The Basics package starts at just £8, The All Rounder at £12 and The Works costs from just £20 a month.

Customers also have the option of adding line rental for just £7.50 a month (currently the cheapest on the market), with evening and weekend calls priced at £2 a month, with anytime landline calls available for an extra £5.

New O2 customers will be required to pay a £25 connection fee during the sign-up process, with 30-day customers required to pay a £29.99 fee.

Under the ISP’s existing Happiness Guarantee, customers will continue to be able to cancel their contract for up to 30 days after signing up if they are not satisfied.

Virgin Media Free Installation Deal

Virgin Media are currently offering a free installation deal worth £40 across a range of their broadband only and broadband & phone bundles.

Customers who make the switch to Virgin Media Broadband will qualify for the free installation offer by subscribing to any of their 10Mb, 20Mb or 50Mb broadband packages. All of the packages include a Virgin Media phone line along with unlimited weekend calls to UK landlines.

Prices for Virgin Media broadband start from just £5 a month for their 10Mb service and weekend calls, right through to £15 a month for their 50Mb package which also includes free activation worth an additional £20. The line rental for the Virgin Media telephone is priced at £11.99 a month.

New customers who don’t require a Virgin Media phone line can select a broadband only package priced at £15 a month for up to 10Mb , £25 a month for 20Mb, and £33 a month for 50Mb speeds.

All of the Virgin Media broadband packages include an unlimited download allowance (subject to fair usage policy), along with free PC Guard security and a free wireless ‘N’ router.

T-Mobile PAYG Dongles Offer Now £8.99

T-Mobile have this week announced a price cut for their range of Pay As You Go mobile broadband dongles.

Available now for a one-off price of just £8.99, customers who buy the T-Mobile PAYG dongle online along with a £10 top-up will receive an additional 30 days free mobile broadband access when they purchase their first day’s usage for just £2.

T-Mobile PAYG customers will be subject to a 2GB fair usage policy for the 30 day period, with no additional charges applied for going over the 2GB limit, although T-Mobile may restrict customer use beyond that point.

At the end of the 30 day period, T-Mobile customers will have the option of simply topping up again, paying for the days they need. This could be either £2 per day for 0.5GB of data usage, £7 per week for 1GB use, or £15 per month for 2GB data allowance.

T-Mobile’s mobile broadband services provide customers with download speeds of up to 4.5Mbps, and were recently voted ‘Best Mobile Broadband’ provider by What Mobile.

3 Mobile iPad 3G SIM Card Deals

3 Mobile have this week launched two new iPad SIM card deals with prices starting from just £7.50 a month.

3 are now offering customers a choice between two plans for their iPad 3G mobile broadband needs, a Pay Monthly plan, or Pay As You Go plan.

Vodafone have this week added a new package to their growing range of free laptop mobile broadband offers.

The new free laptop deal features the popular Samsung N150 netbook that comes complete with a built-in modem for the Vodafone mobile broadband service.
