Following on from the huge success of the Apple iPod Touch, and iPhone, the Apple iPad is a cross between a high end smartphone and a laptop computer.

Powered by a modified version of the popular iPhone Operating System (OS), the iPad features a 9.7-inch (25 cm) multi-touch display, with both a Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi 3G version available.

The iPad enables users to browser the web, read and send email, enjoy and share photos, watch HD videos, listen to music, play games, read ebooks and much more, all using the iPad’s revolutionary Multi-Touch user interface.

Right now there are currently over 3,500 apps designed specifically for the iPad, along with hundreds of thousands created for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The iPad will be available in the UK from late May, with pre-orders available from May 10th.

Vodafone, O2 and Orange are all expected to offer the iPad along with their broadband bundles.

To date both Vodafone and Orange have announced their plans to offer iPad broadband deals, and bundles for all iPad models from the end of May.
