O2 Broadband Deals Now Include Rolling 1-Month Contracts

Leading UK broadband provider O2 have this week announced a significant change to the way in which customers can sign up to their broadband services.

O2 are now offering consumers a choice between 12-month and one-month rolling contracts for their broadband services, which will offer customers a greater overall flexibility.

As part of the major broadband service overhaul, O2 have scrapped their Standard, Premium and Pro packages and instead replaced them with three new deals.

First up is The Basics package, which according to O2 is perfect for everyday surfing and email, while The All Rounder has been specifically designed for consumers who want to download music and catch up on their favourite streaming TV shows.

O2 have also launched a new broadband package called The Works, according to O2 this package is “our top notch broadband for those who want it all. Best for enjoying movies and connected gaming”.

O2′s top two broadband packages (The All Rounder, and The Works) both include unlimited broadband allowances (subject to a fair usage policy), with their new The Basics package including a 20GB monthly limit.

In regards to pricing, The Basics package starts at just £8, The All Rounder at £12 and The Works costs from just £20 a month.

Customers also have the option of adding line rental for just £7.50 a month (currently the cheapest on the market), with evening and weekend calls priced at £2 a month, with anytime landline calls available for an extra £5.

New O2 customers will be required to pay a £25 connection fee during the sign-up process, with 30-day customers required to pay a £29.99 fee.

Under the ISP’s existing Happiness Guarantee, customers will continue to be able to cancel their contract for up to 30 days after signing up if they are not satisfied.

O2 PAYG Mobile Broadband Dongles Now Just £9.99

O2 mobile broadband have reduced the price of their pay as you go broadband dongles to just £9.99.

Their PAYG mobile broadband dongle enables customers to connect to their 3GB mobile broadband network at speeds of up to 3.6MB.

The dongle is available on three different PAYG tariffs, Daily, Weekly or Monthly. For Daily mobile broadband access users will be charged £2 and will receive a 500MB data allowance with unlimited access to O”‘s 7,500 wifi hotspots.

Weekly access is priced at £7.50 and includes 1GB data allowance with unlimited Wi-Fi, and the Monthly tariff costs £15 and includes a 3GB download allowance.

O2 have also added a new netbook to their growing free laptop range. Featuring the latest Windows 7 software, the new Asus UL30A netbook includes built-in mobile broadband along with a 320GB hard drive, 3GB of RAM and 13.3″ display.

O2 Home Phone Broadband 3 Months Free

O2 broadband have this week announced a new 3 months free offer which could see new customers make a saving of up to £70 when signing up to one of their new home phone bundles.

O2 have added a new range of bundles to their growing list of services which allow customers to receive 8Mb broadband along with evening and weekend calls and line rental from just £17 a month.

Any customer who joins up to one of their bundles will receive 3 months free broadband too, offering a saving of £50 for existing O2 mobile phone customers, or a saving of £67.50 for non-customers.

O2 customers will also have the option of upgrading to the anytime calls package, which includes 0845/0870 calls as well as landlines in over 20 international countries prices at just £12.50 a month including line rental.

Other O2 broadband packages include O2 Premium which features 20Mb broadband and is priced at £10 a month for O2 mobile customers and £15 for non-customers. O2′s high-end broadband service, O2 Pro, offers customers speeds of up to 20Mb but with a higher spec wireless router along with priority support priced at £17.50 a month for existing mobile customers, and £22.50 for non-customers.

New O2 Mobile Broadband Laptop Deals

O2 have today unveiled two new laptop deals with built-in mobile broadband technology.

The mobile broadband provider is now offering the ultra-thin Asus UL30A laptop and the Samsung N150 netbook on a select number of mobile broadband tariffs.

The new built-in mobile broadband technology means that customers will no longer need a separate mobile broadband dongle, but will instead simply insert their SIM card into the laptop itself.

O2′s head of home and broadband, Felix Geyr commented that:

We know that customers want to be able to click and go without the hassle of having to load up a mobile broadband dongle and our new range will make surfing the web and staying touch even easier.

By purchasing the laptop from O2, customers are benefiting from award winning customer service and a number of additional services that other providers charge for. The Samsung N150 includes Windows 7 Starter, a 10.1-inch anti-glare screen and a 250GB hard drive. The laptop is available from O2 as part of a 24 month mobile broadband tariff priced at £25 a month. This includes a 3GB monthly download allowance, along with a 500MB wifi limit.

The Samsung N150 also requires a one-off upfront payment of £29.99.

The Asus UL30A (available from May) includes Windows 7 Premium, a 320GB hard drvie, and a 13.3inch HD display. The Asus is also available as part of a 24 month mobile broadband tariff priced at £30 a month, which includes a 3GB monthly download allowance, and a 750MB wifi limit.

O2 Mobile Broadband 3 Months Free Deal

O2 are now offering new customers to their O2 mobile broadband service 3 months free when they sign up to an 18 month contract.

O2 are offering the 3 months free deal on all their 18 month mobile broadband contracts, which are now available with either 1GB or 3GB monthly download allowance.

The new offer means that customers will see a saving of up to £45, with O2′s 3GB tariff priced at £15 a month and their 1GB tariff at £10 a month.

O2 Scraps Connection Fee On Broadband Laptop Bundles

O2 have announced that they have cut the one-off connection fee that was applied to their mobile broadband laptop bundles.

The free laptop bundles that feature the Samsung R519 laptops, and Asus 1005H and others will now no longer require an initial connection fee.

The Asus 1005H laptop features an Intel Atom processor, a 160GB hard drive, and is available free on a two-year mobile broadband deal priced at £25 a month.

Alternatively, the Samsung R519 features an Intel Premium Dual Core Processor, along with a 15.6-inch widescreen display, and a 250GB hard drive. The R519 is available from just £35 a month on a similar contract to the Asus 1005H.
