Leading UK broadband provider O2 have this week announced a significant change to the way in which customers can sign up to their broadband services.

O2 are now offering consumers a choice between 12-month and one-month rolling contracts for their broadband services, which will offer customers a greater overall flexibility.

As part of the major broadband service overhaul, O2 have scrapped their Standard, Premium and Pro packages and instead replaced them with three new deals.

First up is The Basics package, which according to O2 is perfect for everyday surfing and email, while The All Rounder has been specifically designed for consumers who want to download music and catch up on their favourite streaming TV shows.

O2 have also launched a new broadband package called The Works, according to O2 this package is “our top notch broadband for those who want it all. Best for enjoying movies and connected gaming”.

O2′s top two broadband packages (The All Rounder, and The Works) both include unlimited broadband allowances (subject to a fair usage policy), with their new The Basics package including a 20GB monthly limit.

In regards to pricing, The Basics package starts at just £8, The All Rounder at £12 and The Works costs from just £20 a month.

Customers also have the option of adding line rental for just £7.50 a month (currently the cheapest on the market), with evening and weekend calls priced at £2 a month, with anytime landline calls available  for an extra £5.

New O2 customers will be required to pay a £25 connection fee during the sign-up process, with 30-day customers required to pay a £29.99 fee.

Under the ISP’s existing Happiness Guarantee, customers will continue to be able to cancel their contract for up to 30 days after signing up if they are not satisfied.
